What Are All-on-4, All-on-6 & All-on-X Implants?

All-on-X is the umbrella term for a full-arch restoration that uses a small number of strategically placed implants to anchor a fixed bridge of teeth. The number of implants depends on your bone, your bite, and your treatment plan:

  • All-on-4 full mouth dental implants in South Holland use four implants per arch — two placed straight and two angled to maximize anchor strength.
  • All-on-6 full mouth dental implants in South Holland add two more implants for greater stability, often used in larger arches or for stronger biting forces.
  • All-on-X describes any customized configuration tailored to your unique anatomy.

The result is the same: a complete, beautiful set of teeth that’s fixed in your mouth — no adhesives, no overnight soaking, no slipping.

Same-Day Teeth — Yes, Really

One of the most life-changing features of All-on-X is the ability to walk out of our office with a full set of teeth the same day the implants are placed.
After the implants are positioned, a temporary fixed bridge is attached right away. You leave looking and chewing better than you have in years, while the implants quietly fuse to the bone underneath over the next several months. Once healing is complete, your final, custom-crafted restoration is attached.

The Treatment Process Step by Step

We design every case at My Tooth Docs around your specific needs. Here’s how the journey typically unfolds:

  1. Consultation & 3D imaging — A panoramic x-ray and CT scan map your jawbone in three dimensions. We discuss your goals and review your options.
  2. Custom treatment plan — Our team uses digital implant planning software to design exactly where each implant will go before any surgery.
  3. Implant placement (one day) — Under local anesthesia or IV sedation, the implants are placed, and a temporary fixed bridge is attached the same day.
  4. Healing phase (3–6 months) — Implants fuse with the jawbone. You eat, talk, and smile with your temporary teeth.
  5. Final restoration — Once healing is complete, your final All-on-X restoration is custom-made and securely fixed in place.
  6. Ongoing care — Twice-yearly visits keep your new smile in excellent shape.

Why Patients Choose Full Mouth Dental Implants Over Dentures

Traditional dentures replace the look of teeth. Implant-supported full arches replace the function. Here’s how they compare:
Traditional Dentures All-on-X Full Mouth Implants
Slip, click, and shift Stay completely fixed in place
Require messy adhesives No glues or pastes needed
Restores only 25–30% of chewing power Restore up to 99% of chewing strength
Lead to ongoing bone loss Preserve and stimulate the jawbone
Cover the roof of your mouth Leave your palate uncovered for natural taste
Need replacing every 5–7 years Last for decades with proper care
If you’ve been told your only options are dentures or a mouth full of separate implants, All-on-X is the in-between you’ve been looking for.
